Flat (FF) pipe flange
It is suitable for the occasions with less pressure (PN < 1.6MPa).
Raised face (RF) steel pipe flange
The sealing surface is simple, smooth and easy to process.At the same time, it is easy to carry corrosion lining.
However, the contact area is large, and the gasket can be easily squeezed on both sides during preloading.Then it’s not easy to press.
Male and female (M/F) face steel pipe flange
It consists of a convex and concave surface and places the washer on the concave surface.It prevents the washer from extruding.Therefore, the male and female flanges can be applied to higher pressure situations.
Tongue groove (T/G) face steel pipe flange
The touch surface is made of tongue and groove.The washer is placed in the groove and cannot be squeezed.
Compared with RF and MFM, T/G surface flanges can achieve good sealing effect. Flange construction and manufacture is more complex.
It is difficult to replace the washer in the slot.Tongue tank cover for flammable, explosive, toxic, medium, high-pressure situations.
How to divide steel pipe flange? According to different standards, steel pipe flanges can be divided to European standards and American standards. The two systems are not interchangeable due to their different sizes.The American countries and China mostly use ASME or ANSI. Flange of ASME pressure level can be divided into 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500.
