What is slip on flange?
slip on flange does not mean a flange is just a welding method, applicable to any form of flange in the end of the pipe connection, a kind of flange known as flat welding, design according to the flange ring and straight cylinder section of the overall process of connection, respectively according to the whole or loose flange checking. Flat welded flanges are suitable for many types of flanges, but they also have a certain range of applicability, suitable for carbon steel pipe connections with nominal pressure not exceeding 2.5 MPa. A slip on flange structure is a common ring plate. Type B flat welded flange has a short and thick barrel joint besides the ring plate. The sealing surface is machined after welding, and the flange ring has a ladder groove (equivalent to socket welded flange) at the joint of the ring and the short joint, which can ensure the welding quality. Therefore, the sealing performance is good, and it is used in the occasion of higher sealing requirements. The design is checked according to the integral flange.
